If you attended our StandWithUs Northwest's 2008 Community Luncheon on September 18 at noon at the Westin Hotel Seattle, thank you! You joined nearly 300 Seattle-area supporters to learn more about StandWithUs Northwest and to hear Dr. Judea Pearl, the father of slain Wall Street Reporter
Daniel Pearl.The luncheon was a success by all measures. We had hoped for 200 members of the community to join us at our first fundraising event just 10 months after founding the Seattle chapter. With your help and the help of over 40 table captains, we exceeded that goal by 50 percent. And, after expenses, we raised nearly one-third of our operating expenses at the luncheon. We had hoped to cover our expenses and we raised nearly three times that amount.
Now we move on developing a comprehensive education program, including curriculum and materials, for educators who want to teach about Israel as a three-dimensional country rather than as a two-dimensional conflict. And we are working with other excellent organizations to put together the best materials and a curriculum for educators working in Jewish institutions so we can better prepare our students and their parents for the highly and frequently untrue allegations made against Israel and Israelis and, more and more frequently, against Jews who support Israel.

Who We Are
StandWithUs Northwest is a dynamic, non-partisan, professionally-led
organization of grassroots activists dedicated to promoting greater understanding
and support for Israel in the Pacific Northwest. We are passionate in our
commitment to a Jewish, democratic and secure Israel living in peace with
its neighbors.
What Makes Us Different
StandWithUs Northwest differs from other pro-Israel organizations in three ways:
- We focus entirely on one cause: promoting education about and support for Israel.
- We focus our efforts entirely within our region,
the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and
British Columbia).
- We are a bottom up, nimble and energetic group of volunteers who are willing to get personally involved.
Our Goals
We focus our efforts, our energies and our passion to
- Pull together communities in support of Israel,
- Create enthusiasm
for and increase identification with Israel,
- Promote peace through
education and understanding,
- Respond to and correct inaccurate stories
about Israel and the Middle East in local media,
- Organize community response against political campaigns to isolate and demonize Israel, and
- Counter other
misrepresentations and distortions.
